Foster

Are you an animal lover? Do you have room in your home and heart to provide a temporary homeYou supply the love, we supply the rest! to an animal in need?

Our foster program provides a temporary, loving home to Harford County cats, kittens, dog, & puppies that are at risk of being killed in a shelter. By volunteering for our foster program and accepting a foster into your home, you’ll be saving a life.

Fostering Opportunities

  • Cats and Kittens - There is a tremendous need in Harford County for temporary homes for our county’s tabbies. Foster parents will provide individualized care for nursing feline mothers and their babies, young kittens who need to be bottle fed or weaned kittens less than 8 weeks old (not old enough for adoption). Older cats, or those with medical needs, are also available for fostering.
  • Special Needs Dogs - On occasion, we have dogs that need to spend time in foster care to prepare for adoption. These dogs may benefit from a loving, social environment, or special training.
  • Family Assistance – Many times bad things happen to good people with pets. In order to help families who are facing housing and/or financial difficulties not have to surrender their family pet to a shelter, No Kill Harford provides short and long-term care assistance. We believe that resources should never be a reason to separate a dog or cat from a loving family committed to their care and well-being.
